SICE and UNEX have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a long-term partnership in co-developing Smart Road Systems.
Hsinchu, Taiwan, January 14th 2025 – SICE (www.sicetelecom.it) and UNEX (https://unex.com.tw/en/) are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a strategic long-term collaboration in Smart Road technology. This agreement formalizes and strengthens an already successful partnership, which has delivered hundreds of units combining SICE hardware and UNEX firmware, making the collaboration exclusive moving forward.
Through this MoU, the two companies will focus on continuous innovation in cutting-edge roadside and onboard units, offering a turnkey system ready for expansion and customization to meet any requirement.
By sharing goals and product roadmaps, SICE will continue its focus on hardware and electronic design, while UNEX will advance its SDK and firmware development. The comprehensive system provided by this collaboration is ready for deployment worldwide, featuring a graphical user interface, applications, and network management system. Open APIs and collaboration with key players in the smart mobility sector ensure a plug-and-play approach, integrating smart intersections, smart pedestrian crossings, and smart traffic lights to facilitate the expansion of any installed system.
Target customers include road management companies, municipalities, regions, and other administrative divisions or public entities. Initial market penetration will focus on significant expansion into Northern Europe, the Far East, and the United States. As always, SICE and UNEX will offer tailored customizations and services to meet the specific needs of each client.
